Shed Permit Requirements in Stephenville, TX
Based on City of Stephenville published sources. Confirm with the Building Official before you build.
Do you need a permit?
Check with the city. Stephenville has a separate Accessory Building Permit Application in its online portal, and storage is a structure use on its residential application. We couldn't find any size at which a small shed is exempt, so ask the Building Official.
What to know
- Apply through the city's online Citizen Portal.
- The Building Official can be reached at (254) 918-1214.
- No work may be done until a permit has been issued.

Who can apply & how
- Applications go to the Permit Technician through the city's online portal or by email to permits@stephenvilletx.gov. The Building Official reviews plans; once approved, a payment link is emailed.
- Review takes at least 48 hours, starting 9:00 a.m. the day after the city receives the application.
- No work may be done until a permit has been issued. Homeowners acting as their own contractor can schedule inspections in the portal.
