Do you need a permit?
Yes. Temple says an accessory structure, including a shed, requires a permit under the International Building Code.
What to know
- Sheds must be at least 3 feet from side and rear property lines or fences and 10 feet from the home.
- If you're buying a shed, include the pamphlet or brochure; if building it, include framing details and a material list.
- Concrete slabs must not be in a utility easement.

Who can apply & how
- Apply online through MGO Connect. Permit fees are non-refundable.
- After a permit is paid, the city has 10 business days to review it. No work may start until the permit is approved.
